Employing for the first time?

Although lockdown has restricted business for many, as a payroll provider to a large number of businesses I know that some businesses have been taking on new employees over this period.

There will also be individuals who have used this time to start their own business and will be planning for the costs involved in taking on their first employee as the business grows.

So if you are a potential new employer here are some points you need to think about along with the costs you need to plan for.

Will flexible furlough help your business?

We are about to start our fourth month of calculating furlough pay for employers who have been furloughing staff on and off since early March. From 1st July we will have an even more challenging set of calculations if employers have employees working some of their normal hours and furloughing them the rest.

We will be able to do the calculations but how well will flexible furlough work for small businesses?

Thank You Team and Clients

The last six weeks has been the most overwhelming time I have had in the 16 years since I have been in business. The sheer volume of work created by the current situation which has not only significantly increased the time needed to do payroll four-fold but dealing with the almost continuous telephone calls and emails in that first two weeks from clients who just needed to talk things through and get some advice. I really enjoy talking to clients
