Keep your data safe!

What would you do if your computer was hit by Ransomware? 
 
 This is becoming an increasing threat to everyone in business or personally. Even if you know to be aware of dodgy emails it can still get in to your computer. I am sure everyone receives emails with invoices, or statements, or payment information attached. You know they are suspect if you don't generally receive this sort of information, but as a bookkeeping practice we do genuinely receive this information for ourselves, on behalf of our clients and in emails we deal with in our clients' offices. Until you have previewed or opened an email you don't know whether it is from a genuine supplier or whether you have just released a virus into the computer.

Inspiration for business growth

Sometimes you need to do something different with your day to open your mind to opportunities. So last week three of our team visited Accountex 2016 - the national accountancy exhibition and conference - at the ExCel centre in London. It was a chance to get some ideas and inspiration for developing our business and to look for additional opportunities to support our clients.

Changes to tax-free childcare

A couple of years ago the Government announced a Tax-Free Childcare scheme and have recently announced this will launch sometime in 2017. Under this scheme eligible families will be given 20% of their annual childcare costs by the Government. Parents will have to create a Childcare Account and for every 80p they pay into it they will receive 20p from the Government.
